Engineering

for cane sugar factory in Thailand

The Japanese Mitsui Group has commissioned Guangxi Construction Engineering (GCE), based in Nanning, China, with building a cane sugar factory for its Kaset Phol subsidiary in Thailand. In this project, the engineering experts from BMA play an important role, because Mitsui have high standards regarding process efficiency and sugar quality.

We have already completed the basic engineering stage, with its balances, process flow diagrams, a rough layout plan and equipment specifications. This forms the basis for procurement of the machinery and equipment needed for the refinery process. In the next stage, BMA will tackle the detailed engineering. This involves preparing the piping and instrumentation diagrams; drawing up detailed layout plans, load plans and the complete piping design; and planning the software and hardware configuration for the entire automation system.

The factory will have a capacity of 24,000 tons of sugar cane per day, producing raw sugar during the 100 day-long campaign. This will be processed into refined sugar in the integrated refinery almost all year round.
