Centrifugals and the Internet of Things (IoT)

As digital transformation is progressing, the availability and processing of machine operating data are gaining in importance. That is also true for the sugar industry. Among the particularly dynamic types of machinery in the production chain are batch centrifugals. With their very high rotational speeds, they separate the sugar crystals from the mother liquor. Which is why it is good to keep an eye on centrifugal operating data at all times – for safety reasons and to ensure process continuity.

Centrifugal data – available anytime, anywhere

At BMA, we believe in the opportunities that digital transformation offers to the sugar industry. Which is why, from June 2018, all BMA-built batch centrifugals will come with an integrated interface to the BMA Cloud. It will then be possible to make available major operating data as KPIs or trends – at any time and any point on the globe that has a reliable internet connection.

The feature also includes remote access to a centrifugal dashboard with centrifugal basic data. With your personal login details, you will have 24/7/365 access to a preselected range of relevant operating data, presented on a digital dashboard in a clearly structured and condensed format.

Smart monitoring for centrifugals: How you benefit

  • Limitless mobility
Access your machine data from anywhere in the world.
  • Clear trends
View the latest machine data from the centrifugal display, or check history data and trend developments.
  • Broad range
Rely on quite a broad range of data (performance data, events, operation indicators, statuses) for improved process control.
  • Platform independence
Our centrifugal dashboards can run on many standard platforms.
  • High availability
    Access your machine data 24/7.

Security first

Our smart monitoring for centrifugals relies on state-of-the-art encryption technology at all levels. Machine data are sent to the Microsoft Azure cloud via a secure connection. BMA is aware how sensitive the transmitted data are and we firmly believe in the security of the Microsoft cloud – so much so that we host our own data there, in fact! The machine data are processed in the cloud and made available to users via dashboards. To ensure these sensitive data are protected from unauthorised access by others, BMA relies on a tried-and-tested method: multi-factor authentication. This is used whenever security of access to sensitive data comes first, such as in online banking.

Data security

Data that have been transmitted to the cloud are made available to you via suitable dashboards. This means you can keep an eye on all major centrifugal data such as KPIs or trend developments, putting them at your fingertips wherever you are. To ensure these sensitive data are protected from unauthorised access by others, BMA relies on a tried-and-tested method: multi-factor authentication. This is used whenever security of access to sensitive data comes first, such as in online banking.
